The goal of this test is to check your distance visual acuity. It does not replace an eye exam by an optometrist.

Download this ADOBE ACROBAT DOCUMENT (1825 k) and print it. If you have never downloaded the ADOBE ACROBAT READER before,
you can download it here.
OR
Download this IMAGE in high resolution and print it in 150 dpi on an 8.5 X 11-inch paper.
Note : You cannot print it directly from the browser because the printout
will be too large, you need a graphics editor for the printing.

Stand at a distance of 10 feet (3.08 meters) from the printed chart.

Hide your left eye completely with your hand. Read the smallest letters you can.
|

Note the line number. This is the right eye result.

Repeat step 3 and 4, but this time hiding your right eye completely with your hand.

|
If you can read the line 10 with each eye, your visual acuity is excellent (20/20). If you believe that you have vision problems, we suggest that you
see an optometrist.
